The Agency is a technical institution of the Community responsible for strengthening civil aviation oversight institutional framework in the region. Its responsibilities among others include promoting the safe, secure and efficient use and development of civil aviation within and outside the Partner States; assisting the Partner States in meeting their safety and security oversight obligations and responsibilities under the Chicago Convention and its Annexes; and providing the Partner States with an appropriate forum and structure to discuss plan and implement common measures required for achieving the safe and orderly development of international civil aviation through the implementation of international standards and recommended practices relating to the safety and security of civil aviation.http://www.tcaa.go.tz/

Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA)

The Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) was established by the Ports Act No. 17 of 2004 as landlord port authority. It operates a system of ports serving the Tanzania hinterland and the landlocked countries of Malawi, Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Burundi, Rwanda and Uganda.

Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA)

Tanzania Airports Authority (TAA) was established on 29th November 1999 vide Government Notice Number 404 of 1999 under the Executive Agency Act Number 30 of 1997. The Authority assumed the functions of the former Directorate of Aerodromes under the Ministry of Communications and Transport currently the Ministry of Transport. Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute(DMI)

Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute is the first maritime training institution of its kind to be set up in the country. Institute (DMI) was established on the 3rd July 1978 as a training wing of Tanzania Coastal Shipping Line (TACOSHILI), known as Dar es Salaam Maritime Training Unit (DMTU) to fulfil the needs for well-trained Seafarers. On realising the ever increasing needs for maritime training, the Government transformed the training unit to Dar es Salaam Maritime Institute (DMI) by the Act of Parliament No. 22 of 1991 to cater for greater needs of Shipping Industry in the region. Previously all Shipping companies were forced to send their cadets abroad to be trained as marine officers. DMI is accredited by NACTE (to offer NTAs Level 4 -8), SUMATRA (to offer certificate of competency-CoC), CILT (courses in Logistics & Transport) and ABMA (courses in Shipping and Logistics.http://dmi.ac.tz/

SINOTASIP is the only marine company in East Africa which possesses ocean shipping vessels. Now it owns 3 vessels of 15,000 dwt class. SINOTACO (Kenya) Limited and Beijing Representative Office of SINOTASIP are SINOTASIP's subsidiaries.

SINOTASIP is engaged in shipping and shipping related business. Its vessels carry trading and donating cargoes from China, Southeast Asia and India to East Africa, Red Sea, Persian Gulf and Mediterranean Sea areas. It operates shipping agents for SINOTASIP vessels, COSCO vessels and chartered vessels, and it provides cargo transfer and warehousing business for inland nations in East Africa.

Marine Services Company Limited (MSCL)

Marine Services Company Limited (MSCL) was incorporated with effect from December 8, 1997 under Company Ordinance and gazetted on June 21, 1999. Prior to that date it was an integral part of RC. MSCL headquarters are located in Mwanza and operates in three districts markets in Lake Victoria, Lake Tanganyika and Lake Nyasa, and within each it provides passengers services and cargo transportations.

Marine Services Company Ltd. operates passenger services in the great East African lakes, namely Victoria, Tanganyika and Nyasa with foreign voyages to Mpulungu in Zambia, Bujumbura in Burundi, Kalemie, Uvira and Baraka in Congo and Nkata Bay in Malawi.http://www.mscl.go.tz/
